Developmental Draft Day Information

RYFA will hold its first ever live draft this Saturday, August 10, 2013 starting at 11:00 a.m. for ages 4-7 and 12:30 p.m. for ages 10-13 at Earl O'Neal Sports Complex on game field one. The live draft is for football players ages 4-7 and 10-13 that have not been contacted by a division one football coach.

What is a live draft?

In the past our draft process was done on a Friday evening and only board members and coaches were in attendance. This year we are making it a public event. This allows parents to see how the developmental teams are formed and gives them immediate contact with their child's coach.

Do you have to attend the draft?

No, it is not mandatory for you to attend. Your child will still be drafted by to a team, but we do think it would be good experience for you and your little Bulldog.

What happens to the football players that do not attend evaluations?

Out of fairness to the teams and the coaches drafting players, any player who was not seen during this weeks evaluation process will have their name places in a hat and will be blindly selected.

When will practice start?

The coaches will contact you after the draft to let you know the practice schedule.

When is the first game?

The first game will be on September 7, 2013.
